Where we stand
The organization’s books are public, and so is its legal status. Here is exactly where Project Jail Cell, Inc. stands, stated plainly.
Project Jail Cell, Inc. is a Florida nonprofit corporation that is forming, not yet formed. The Articles of Incorporation are drafted but not yet filed.
Board
Florida requires at least three directors before the state will accept the filing (Fla. Stat. § 617.0803). Two seats are filled — Javier Contreras, President, and Paola Contreras, proposed Secretary. The third seat is open, and we are recruiting for it. See Get involved.
Tax status
There is no Employer Identification Number, no bank account, and no 501(c)(3) determination letter yet. Form 1023-EZ has not been filed. Donations are not tax-deductible at this time.
Financials
There are no financials to publish yet, because the organization has not been formed and has no bank account. When real financials exist, they will be published here. In the meantime, the honest picture is that the year-one operating budget runs on well under $2,000, hosting is free, and the founder draws no pay.
